- Plan and prepare for recovery
- Access, interpret and apply compliance documentation relevant to the work activity
- Obtain, interpret and clarify details of the recovery requirements
- Access and apply safety information and procedures including use of personal protective equipment
- Select and prepare materials required for the task
- Identify, address and report potential hazards and risks, and environmental and heritage issues
- Conduct pre-start checks to ensure equipment is ready for operation
- Assist in the preparation of a recovery plan
- Recover and access equipment
- If necessary, carry out pre-start, start-up, park-up and shutdown
- Install and operate recovery equipment within the limitations of the site
- Recover equipment systematically using approved methods/plans, with minimal loss and damage of equipment
- Carry out pushing and towing of equipment and plant safely and in accordance with equipment capabilities
- Apply and interpret diagnostic operations on recovered equipment
- Assess if decommissioning of equipment is required and take action if necessary
- Conduct housekeeping activities
